Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

What is JUAN?

JUAN is a free Chrome extension that lets you track cryptocurrency prices and manage a personal portfolio right from your browser. It features a retro pixel art interface, real-time price updates, sparkline charts, and integration with X.com (formerly Twitter) so you can see live prices next to cashtags in your feed.

How do I install JUAN?

Visit the Chrome Web Store, search for "JUAN", and click Add to Chrome. Once installed, pin the extension to your toolbar by clicking the puzzle-piece icon and toggling JUAN on.

How do I add coins to my portfolio?

Click the JUAN icon in your toolbar to open the popup. Use the search bar at the top to find a coin by name or symbol, then click the + button to add it to your portfolio. You can optionally enter the amount you hold.

Do I need an account?

No account is required to use JUAN's core features — portfolio tracking and price viewing work immediately after installation. Signing in with Google unlocks additional features like cloud sync, referral rewards, and governance participation.

Portfolio & Prices

How often are prices updated?

Prices refresh automatically in the background. When you open the popup, you'll see the most recent data. You can also tap the refresh button to force an immediate update.

Why is a price different from another site?

JUAN aggregates price data from multiple sources. Small differences between sites are normal and can result from:

  • Different data providers or exchanges used as sources
  • Slight delays in data propagation
  • Volume-weighted vs. last-trade pricing methods
How do I remove a coin?

Open the coin's detail view by clicking on it in your portfolio. Then use the remove option to delete it from your list.

Can I reorder my coins?

Yes. In the portfolio view you can drag and drop coins to rearrange them in whatever order you prefer. Your custom order is saved automatically.

What does the sparkline show?

The sparkline is a tiny chart next to each coin showing its price movement over the last 7 days. It gives you a quick visual sense of the recent trend — up, down, or sideways — without needing to open the full chart.

Coin Details & Charts

How do I view detailed coin info?

Click on any coin in your portfolio to open its detail view. You'll see the current price, percentage change, an interactive chart, and key metrics like market cap, volume, and fully diluted valuation.

What chart timeframes are available?

The detail view offers several timeframes:

  • 24H — Last 24 hours
  • 7D — Last 7 days
  • 30D — Last 30 days
  • 1Y — Last year

Tap any timeframe button to switch the chart.

What do MCAP, FDV, and VOL mean?

MCAP (Market Cap) — The total value of all circulating coins, calculated as price × circulating supply.

FDV (Fully Diluted Valuation) — The theoretical market cap if all possible coins were in circulation, calculated as price × max supply.

VOL (24h Volume) — The total dollar value of trades in the last 24 hours. High volume usually means stronger price confidence.

X.com Integration

How does JUAN work on X.com?

JUAN scans posts on X.com (formerly Twitter) for cashtags like $BTC or $ETH and displays the current price inline. This lets you see live market data without leaving your timeline.

What are cashtags?

A cashtag is a dollar sign followed by a ticker symbol, for example $BTC, $SOL, or $DOGE. They're commonly used on X.com to reference cryptocurrencies and stocks. JUAN recognizes crypto cashtags and enriches them with price data.

Why don't I see prices on X.com?

If prices aren't appearing next to cashtags, try these steps:

  • Make sure JUAN is enabled — check the extension icon in your toolbar
  • Refresh the X.com page
  • Verify the cashtag uses a recognized crypto symbol
  • Check that you haven't disabled the X.com integration in JUAN's settings

Fear & Greed Index

What is the Fear & Greed Index?

The Fear & Greed Index is a market sentiment indicator that ranges from 0 (Extreme Fear) to 100 (Extreme Greed). It's calculated from factors like volatility, trading volume, social media activity, and market momentum. JUAN displays it at the top of your portfolio as a quick mood check for the overall crypto market.

How do I hide it?

Open JUAN's Settings and toggle off the Fear & Greed meter. Your preference is saved and will persist across sessions.

Community & Rewards

How do rewards work?

JUAN rewards active users with points for actions like using the extension regularly, referring friends, and participating in governance. Points may translate to future benefits within the JUAN ecosystem. Check the Settings panel for your current point balance.

What is the referral system?

Each signed-in user gets a unique referral link found in Settings. Share it with friends — when they install JUAN and sign in, both of you earn reward points.

How does governance work?

Governance lets the JUAN community vote on feature priorities and project decisions. Signed-in users with enough participation can cast votes on active proposals. This helps shape JUAN's roadmap based on what the community actually wants.

Where do I enter my Solana wallet?

Go to Settings in the JUAN popup and look for the Solana Wallet field. Paste your wallet address there. This is used for any on-chain rewards or airdrops associated with your JUAN activity.

How do I earn points?

Points are earned through several activities:

  • Daily login — 1 point per day for opening JUAN
  • Referrals — points when friends sign up via your link
  • Telegram group engagement — points for participating in the JUAN Telegram group (scaled by activity level)
  • X posts about $JUAN — points for public posts from your linked X account
  • PFP sync — bonus points when your Telegram avatar matches your uploaded JUAN PFP

Check your current point balance in Settings.

What is CT Radar?

CT Radar watches a curated list of crypto influencer accounts on X and displays their recent posts and the tokens they're mentioning — all in one view. It shows the latest tweets, extracted cashtags ($SYMBOL), and resolved contract addresses from each watched account. Great for discovering new plays.

CT Radar runs entirely on our server. You don't need to link any account to use it.

How does the shill card generator work?

Open any coin's detail view in your portfolio and tap the Shill button. You can then:

  • Choose a pose for the pixel art character
  • Select a size preset (square, wide, tall)
  • Pick a caption style
  • Download or share your custom pixel art shill card

The shill card includes your portfolio data and the coin's current price.

What is Live Caption?

Live Caption lets community members set a short text caption (up to 55 characters) with a 30-minute cooldown between changes. The current caption is displayed publicly on the juancoin.cash homepage in a speech bubble for all visitors to see. No content filtering is applied. Admins can disable the feature. Set or view the current caption from the extension's Live Caption view.

Account & Settings

How do I sign in / log out?

To sign in, open the JUAN popup and tap Sign in with Google. To log out, go to Settings and tap the sign-out option at the bottom. Signing out does not delete your local portfolio data.

Is my data secure?

Yes. JUAN stores your portfolio data locally in your browser. If you sign in, minimal account info is synced securely. JUAN does not have access to your exchange accounts, private keys, or funds. We never sell or share your data.

How do I link my X (Twitter) account?

Go to Settings → Link X Account. A new window will open asking you to authorize JUAN on X.com. Once approved, your account is linked. This allows JUAN to scan your public posts for $JUAN mentions and award you engagement points.

You can unlink at any time from the same Settings screen. Unlinking removes all stored X data from our servers.

How do I link my Telegram account?

Go to Settings → Link Telegram to get a 6-digit verification code. Then open Telegram, find @JUAN_coin_bot, and send /verify YOUR_CODE. Once verified, your Telegram account is linked to your JUAN profile.

Linking Telegram enables: (1) group engagement points for participating in the JUAN chat, (2) PFP sync rewards if your Telegram avatar matches your JUAN PFP, and (3) FUD detection alerts. Contact support to unlink.

How do I upload a profile picture (PFP)?

Go to Settings → Upload PFP. Your image must be:

  • Exactly 2048×2048 pixels
  • PNG format (magic-byte checked server-side)
  • Under 2.5 MB

Once uploaded, your PFP appears across JUAN (chat, rankings, etc.). If you also link Telegram, JUAN will periodically check if your Telegram avatar matches your PFP and award sync points. Remove your PFP anytime from Settings.

What is the community chat (Troll Box)?

JUAN has a built-in chat room where signed-in users can discuss crypto. You can send messages, see other users' PFPs and names, and interact with the community. Key rules:

  • No spam or harassment — violating posts may be removed by admins
  • No FUD — baseless fear-mongering about $JUAN or other projects
  • You can delete your own messages — click the delete button on any message you sent

The chat is not end-to-end encrypted. Don't share sensitive information. Admins may moderate content to keep the community healthy.

Troubleshooting

Prices aren't loading

If prices show as stale or aren't updating:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Click the refresh button in the popup
  • Try closing and reopening the popup
  • Disable and re-enable the extension in chrome://extensions

If the issue persists, the price API may be experiencing temporary downtime.

Extension popup is blank

A blank popup usually means the extension needs to reload:

  • Go to chrome://extensions
  • Find JUAN and click the reload icon
  • If that doesn't help, remove and reinstall the extension
JUAN isn't showing on X.com

The content script may not have loaded properly:

  • Hard-refresh the X.com page (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R)
  • Ensure JUAN has permission to run on X.com — check chrome://extensions > JUAN > Site access
  • Make sure the X.com integration is enabled in JUAN's settings
